Staycation 2020

We are just back from a fab 3 night break. As a family of 4, we had a wonderful time here in the Abbey Hotel. The staff were friendly especially Michael, who was attentive to our needs.

The leisure centre with pool was great for the kids.

Lovely Location for a Staycation

Myself and my Fiancé stayed here for 2 nights For our staycation. We booked 2 nights with an evening meal the second night . We ended up eating here both evenings and the food was amazing & so tasty! The staff where all very nice & wore visors / masks. There are hand sanitiser stations everywhere which was brilliant, We felt very safe the whole stay . Service was great , while staying we had prearranged to get a show around as we where thinking of booking our wedding here . The grounds are beautiful with the Abbey right behind the hotel . It would be perfect for wedding photos. We ended up booking our wedding at The Abbey we loved it so much. Can’t wait to go back again for our Big Day ! Fiona Fay Dublin

Great service lovely atmosphere

We had a fab 2 night stay at the Abbey Hotel. Our family room was big, one double bed and two single beds, all really comfortable, nicely decorated room with tea and coffee making facilities, it looked out onto the abbey ruins. Breakfast was super... great variety of everything, buffet required queuing and gloves to be put on, however it was all calm and well stocked, coffee and toast was brought to your table. The one thing I would say that was outstanding was the friendliness of every single member of staff... leisure club/ cleaning/ catering/ reception literally everyone had the same attentive friendly relaxed manner... whoever recruits / trains the staff is a genius. Rooms were clean, lounge areas spotless and inviting, lots of hand sanitiser at lifts etc, we loved our stay and thought the Covid measures were superbly done. We didn’t have time to eat in the restaurant, however we had great room service one evening and the kids loved the pool. Booking slots required for breakfast, restaurant and pool.. however we found all available that we needed. Great stay. Mo. King Lisburn NI

Great staycation

Lovely hotel and the welcome couldn't have been friendlier. Shot walk to centre of town and the ancient Roscommon Abbey is adjacent. We had a problem with the first room we were shown to but were immediately relocated and sensitively handled, Very COVID-19 aware even down to gloves being issued for breakfast buffet. One of the best gyms I've used at a hotel and very helpful opening hours. Room we had was warm but as soon as we asked a fan was provided. Without doubt would recommend.

Very kind to families with small children

Nothing was a problem and the swimming pool was very clean. Social distancing rules and hygiene were a priority but it didn't feel oppressive. Staff are understanding and friendly

Friends Covid Wedding

Had my friends wedding here last weekend and the whole hotel did an amazing job. It was evident they went above and beyond to make it a special Day for Sarah and Damien and all their guests. On arrival they have someone to meet and greet and direct you on where to go, they had excellent safety measures in place in getting people checked in efficiently and mostly safely. The receptionist on duty was lovely and very friendly, she did a quick check in and organised our breakfast times with us. We had a lovely family room with a beautiful view of the Abbey from the room. The family room was spacious and very comfortable for three adults. They had a lovely drinks reception set up in a private are for all the wedding guests with sandwiches also and all served by a member of staff. The room where the wedding was held was also set up beautifully and of course with social distancing taken in to account at each table. The wedding meal was out of this world, the standard of food was excellent. Their Roast beef was cooked just perfect and great size portions, they came around with seconds also but we absolutely had o room left. They had a band as normal and served all our drinks to the tables which we assumed would be slow service but absolutely not the case. The team were on the ball and well able to keep drinks flowing during the time allowed. Breakfast both mornings again was delicious, fresh food hot at all times. Again social distancing between tables and booked time slots to prevent over crowding in the restaurant. Through out our stay here anything we needed or had queries about staff were more than happy to help. Very well ran hotel and will certainly be back again to stay. Thank you for a great weekend. Anniversary Dinner

Just a little ahead of the official date, (tomorrow 17th). We had a lovely evening in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon to mark our 35th wedding anniversary. and delightful company!

The setting was as near to perfect, as could be expected in a strange world'. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and very helpful. The extra little touch on the dessert palette made things just perfect. James H

Perfect family hotel

We stayed 4 nights as part of our tour of the North West. Excellent staff, room, food and service. Only suggestion would be change up the menu a bit. It was the exact same every night of our stay. Apart from that excellent.

The Hotel had adapted very well to the restrictions imposed by the Covid 19 pandemic. The brekfast and dinner were catered for with due regard for social distancing. The swiming pool was operated by booking times and worked well. The food was excellent as were the staff working in the restaurant.

The hotel grounds were well kept. This hotel is great for a short break regardless of the weather.

Lovely hotel

We had a lovely time here, food was fabulous. Staff were so friendly and worked so hard to keep the place kept spotless. Rooms spacious and loved having air conditioning. Would recommend highly for a nice quiet break with beautiful food.

A beautiful hotel

We loved our recent Anniversary stay with the Abbey hotel.

Well done to all the staff on how organised and well run you have the hotel with current restrictions in place. It was by far the most organised and safest place we have visited in the last couple of weeks. And as always food was amazing. We stayed in the bridal suite which is a beautiful room and were welcomed with a lovely bottle of champagne and chocolates. We can’t wait to return. Siobhan O

Great weekend

stayed in the abbey hotel the weekend 11th to 13th of sept and had a great time . it is really the staff that make this hotel great. from check in to check out the staff made it really good . the food was great and the hotel was laid out to make it as friendly and as welcoming as possible during the covid crisis . there was plenty of sanitiser around the hotel” Anthony J Kelly

Great bar food

Lovely bar menu. I had steak and my wife had the chicken. Staff were very friendly. We were looked after by Michelle in the bar who was great crack but professional. We will drop back again soon. Lovely building and grounds.

Birthday party

I had my birthday celebration last week end in the Abbey Hotel Roscommon and the service that we received was excellent. Sarah the events manager did an fantastic job and did everything that I asked. The staff serving at the table Anto And Angela did a superb job as did Michael and staff in the bar. It was a super evening and an experience that I will never forget. Thanks for making it such a memorable occasion Best wishes Ann Galway

Had a 2 night stay with party of 5 last weekend, hotel lovely and staff so friendly in particular I’d like to thank the waiter Ciaran Bracken who served us both nights, he went above and beyond to accommodate us, in my opinion hotel is very lucky to have a waiter of this standard.

Staycation

Stayed here a lot...and what better way to spend a staycation then in the abbey hotel...everything very well payed out ie covid related...the new normal....had dinner in the bar both evenings gorgeous food and great service from the staff...breakfast was also lovely great being able to serve urself using gloves not a problem...room lovely and cosy great size and beds so comfy...lovely pool as well u have to book a slot but wasn’t a problem lovely and warm too..can’t wait to stay again...thanks, Ali From Lisnaskea

Amazing Customer Service

I stayed last night in the Abby Hotel for the 3rd time on bussines, there was a small problem with my room, when I approached the front desk Edwena couldnt do enough to get me sorted with a new room in about 3 minutes. From my check in to my room issue, I honestly felt like I was the only one in the hotel, Edwena was so helpful, friendly, professional, and even organised hot coffee for me at 0530 as I was checking out for my long drive.

Nice hotel

Stayed for two nights and was very happy with it. The covid guidelines are very clear and everyone followed them which makes for a more comfortable stay knowing that our safety while staying is important. The staff were friendly and helpful both at reception and in the bar/dining room for breakfast. The food in the bar was tasty… Michael M
